What is the Cardiff Rose? |
| The Cardiff Rose is an Elizabethan privateer galleon, carrying 24 guns and letters of marque against England's powerful enemy, Phillip of Spain. Her crew also owns inns in Dorsetshire and in Cardiff in Wales. They instruct students in swordplay whilst visiting their favorite harvest faire in the Cotswalds. The men and women of The Rose come from a variety of backgrounds, and each has their unique perspective on life, pyracy, love and war. |
| In a somewhat more real perspective we are the Cardiff Rose fencing booth at the Northern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire. Years of acting workshops have encouraged us to develop characters and histories set in the late 1500's, and putting on weekend-long fencing stage shows has created new and improvisational character elements . In this book you'll find stories about our exploits, songs, poems, and a bit of our history. Enjoy, and come visit us at the Faire! |
